Health and Wellbeing
Maryland Auto offers a variety of medical and dental plans ranging from PPO to EPO, which include vision coverage and behavioral health. Prescription coverage is available under a separate plan. Maryland Auto pays a significant portion of the monthly insurance premiums. Life/AD&D insurance, long-term care insurance, and health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts are also available.
Securing a Financial Future
Maryland Auto offers many programs to assist employees in planning their financial future. All employees are participants in the State of Maryland Pension System. Early and disability retirement options are available.
All employees are eligible to participate in a variety of supplemental retirement plans, including a 401(k) Plan and a 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan. A ROTH plan is also available, with contributions made after-tax.
Education and Development
Maryland Auto believes in lifelong learning and offers a range of educational and career development programs.
We encourage and financially assist employees in completing and acquiring their undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as acquiring professional designations and certifications. Maryland Auto’s Incentive Award Program includes a one-time financial reward and, for certain certifications, financial support to attend the conferment ceremony.
On-line training, coursework, books, videos, and job aids are available on such topics as leadership, business, and IT skills. An incentive program is in place to recognize course completion throughout the year
Leave Program
Time well spent outside the office rejuvenates us all. Achieving a balance between home and work life is healthy. Maryland Auto provides all employees with time off to take care of personal responsibilities and relax.
Paid time away from the office is comprised of annual, personal, and sick leave. In addition, all employees receive eleven paid holidays each year. We also support employees by providing time off for bereavement, military duty, and jury duty.
All employees are eligible to participate in a Leave Donation Program through which leave is donated and/or provided to those in need of assistance.
