Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 by honoring the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Latin and Hispanic Americans. The celebration began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week. President George H.W. Bush was the first U.S. president to officially declare September 15 to October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month. The observance begins in the middle of the month due to national Independence Days in several Latin American countries. Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua celebrate on September 15, Mexico follows on September 16, Chile celebrates on September 18, and Belize follows on September 21.

Maryland Auto is proud to be active in the Hispanic Community. We are a member of the Latino Providers Network and attend several cultural festivals throughout the year and during Hispanic Heritage Month.
