Spotlight on Mariana Fernandez
This month, we highlight Mariana Fernandez, from Highland Insurance Group in Timonium.
Mariana began her journey into the insurance world after moving from Venezuela in January 2014. By October of that year, she was already a licensed sales producer. Mariana’s career path led her to become a General Manager at an agent office, and in March 2022, she took the leap to become an Exclusive Agent, and that’s when the Highland Insurance Group was born.
Mariana has been working with Maryland Auto since she became a licensed sales producer, but it was not until she became an agent that she fully discovered all of the benefits that Maryland Auto offers. Now, Maryland Auto is one of the top products her office offers.

Mariana feels that with industry changes to eligibly requirements, she is happy to be able to offer Maryland Auto insurance to those who do not qualify in the standard market.
“For me, Maryland Auto is an essential part of our office growth every month. No matter the economy or even your driving record, you must have insurance, it is required by law, and Maryland Auto is a great option to have.”

We are a 100% bilingual office, dedicated especially to the Hispanic community, where not everyone can immediately obtain a U.S. Driver’s License. Mariana says that she has seen many customers who have been misled or poorly advised, and a few months later, they’re left with no insurance, huge debts, and fines. “With Maryland Auto, we can take care of every person that comes to us, and that’s incredibly important to us,” she says. “Not to mention the amazing opportunities on the commercial side.”
