March 27, 2025 (Baltimore) Maryland Auto joined the Business Studies Department and Business Club of Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) in conjunction with the University of Baltimore Advisory Committee for their ongoing series of Risk Management and Insurance Career Day Fairs. The sessions were held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 and Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the CCBC Essex and CCBC Catonsville campuses.
These informational career fairs provide students with the opportunity to speak with insurance professionals in a wide variety of fields, including information technology, accounting, actuarial sciences, human resources, administration, and marketing & communications. This was the third round of Risk Management and Insurance Career Days hosted by CCBC, with the aim of educating students about the benefits and opportunities available through a career in the insurance industry. In addition, in the days leading up to the fairs, CCBC invited Maryland Auto Executive Director Al Redmer, Jr. to speak to accounting classes and share stories from his more than four decades in the field and to encourage students to attend the fairs and learn more about career opportunities in insurance.
“We appreciate this continued partnership with CCBC and the University of Baltimore and the opportunity for Maryland Auto to play an instrumental role in making young adults aware of the wide array of roles available in our industry beyond the more well-known sales and claims positions,” said Mr. Redmer. “For those figuring out which direction they want to go in their young careers, or those looking to explore new career paths, I want to share that the industry can provide an enormous amount of opportunity and career stability.”
Professionals from various insurance companies and specialties in the industry were on hand to answer questions from career fair attendees and to help students understand how their current educational paths overlap with available roles in the field.
