SPOTLIGHT ON ADA SURIEL

This month we highlight Ada Suriel from Insurance for Me based in Columbia, MD. 

Ada Suriel is a Maryland Auto agent based in Columbia, Maryland. Her career in insurance began almost 30 years ago when she worked for one of Puerto Rico’s best-known insurance companies as a proposal coordinator. She discovered that she was passionate about the role that insurance plays in financial planning and how it can help mitigate damages resulting from the unexpected. She has worked with Maryland Auto for 8 years, and two of those years have been through her own agency, Insurance For Me.  

“As an agency owner, I am aware of the current challenges of the industry, especially in regards to keeping insurance affordable and providing adequate protection. It is fortunate to know that despite the increased restrictions , Maryland Auto is still willing to work with all types of backgrounds. Our customers trust us, and they know Maryland Auto is a safe place (to submit their risk) that allows them to have a fresh start.” 

Ada makes it a priority to develop relationships with local businesses and organizations that assist individuals in purchasing vehicles. She wants to help educate people so they can be successful in managing their insurance and social responsibility as new drivers. This community involvment also keeps her in the loop regarding any regulations, requirements or changes that may impact her clients. 

“Every day we have extraordinary stories about how our work makes a difference in people’s lives. For example, we hear from drivers who face serious problems with their driving record or people who do not have sufficient insurance history. We advise them and provide coverage options and resources. We give our customer real solutions based on the market’s reality so that they have the tools to make the right decisions.”  

Suriel recalls a time when a client and her son who was involved in an accident that disqualified him from staying be on his mother’s policy. “We were able to present him with an option for insurance coverage. His mother was thankful that we took the time to explain to him some of the things that  inexperienced drivers need to know. Success stories like this one are possible because of Maryland Auto.
