SPOTLIGHT ON JOE RUGGIERO

This month, we highlight Joe Ruggiero, from Joe Ruggiero Agency in Owings Mills.

Joe Ruggiero is a Maryland Auto agent in Owings Mills, Maryland. In 2008, he started working part-time at his father’s office and hasn’t looked back.  

“You could say that I have insurance in my DNA. My father, uncle and grandfather have each spent their entire careers in the business.”  

In 2021, Joe established his own agency where his now-retired father also works part-time. “It’s been great, especially as a new agent, to have support from my family, my peers and from the leadership at my company.” 

After graduating college, his work in insurance transformed from a job to a fulfilling career. Joe recognizes the opportunity to connect with people and create a meaningful impact in their lives.  

Since joining Maryland Auto in 2010, Joe has come to rely on our service for his clients. New clients often express gratitude for the affordable coverage and appreciate the proactive approach that Joe and his team have in managing accounts and reaching out when policies are up for renewal. “Getting everyone in my office appointed as Maryland Auto agents was one of the first things I did after opening. We are a growing agency, so we love being able to offer coverage to more customers.”

Joe is also committed to community outreach. He and his team actively engage with the community by participating in community events and networking weekly with centers-of-influence including local dealerships, other insurance agents, property management companies and other locally owned businesses.  

“We are always out and about in the community! It is always a nice change of pace for my team and I to get out of the office and engage with people. Whether it means assisting with a complicated claim or underwriting issue or reviewing a policy in-depth, I really look forward to those moments where I’m able to go above and beyond to help customers. I’m also lucky to have a team that feels the same way.”
